They are the ones who have really shown the world that Rock and Rap both can co-exist. I'm kind of surprised that this band has a 52% chance, because they've done quite more to the music industry than you would think.

In addition to the nu-metal acts like Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Drowning Pool, and P.O.D, there have been various bands who've used elements of nu-metal while not exactly being that.Godsmack, Mudvayne, Sevendust, Saliva, etc. If I'm correct, I belive the Cure even joined Korn for the unplugged session (who should really be in as well). Staind, Evanescene, Lacuna Coil, Sepultra.they all respect Staind. And they've kind of shown they can do other things to, like their recent unplugged album.Īlso, Korn has already became a major influence on many bands. Sure it was derived from bands like Faith No More and Deftones but it was never clear until they showed up on the scene. It doesn't matter if you like Korn or not, face it, they made nu-metal popular. Remember, this hall of fame is based on innovation and impace to rock music. And we can't forget how powerful Corey's lyrics and voices is probably the only nu-metal band that will get in. Also, a big part of them are really nice musicians. Obviously Slipknot also have it, but I really can't feel it as a repetitive melody inside all songs.īesides that, they are 9 musicians doing music for a famous "company" called Slipknot, so it's kinda hard to make awful records (even All Hope Is Gone, considered their worst record even by themselves, has songs like Psychosocial, Snuff and Sulfur, these got really famous). These bands have an awesome and beautiful signature timbre. Korn has their signature timbre, just like when you listen to a SOAD or an ACDC song and can promptly say it is their songs. Obviously I have listened to Korn, maybe even this week, but for me there's no such majestic way to make music as Slipknot.

The same way you distinguish movies between movies, Slipknot songs for me are very distinguished one from another, exactly as each song was a movie completely different from other movie. For me, all their albums are unique and specific, and each song is a universe. I've never found in any other nu metal band what I found in Slipknot. Anyway, read our wiki and just use some common sense please. We'll obviously allow the occasional nu-metal phase of bands and artists like.Vanilla Ice. However, there's certain songs and bands that just are not nu-metal.
